Parhelic Circle from Atmospheric Optics site. This was formed by ice crystals similar to those in cirrus clouds, but in this instance you have a conglomerate of a 22 degree circumscribed halo and 2 sundogs. Check out the linkage get schooled.

From Hortus Malabaricus Garden of Malabar (1678-1693) I love these images. They can be found by title at a pretty cool online library I got hip to called the Botanicus Library. Beautiful stuff, sometimes its hard to navigate but this geo map is a good start. Ever wanted to know the medicinal plant history of Mexico?
